Adrian Coxson from Baltimore (Md.) City College, one of the top wide receiver prospects on the East Coast, has committed to Penn State.  The 6-foot-1 and 195-pound Coxson made his announcement via video blog on DigitalSports.com.

Coxson was in Happy Valley over the weekend for the Blue-White Spring Game and told Nittany Network he expected to select a college “soon.”

“It was great,” Coxson said right after watching the Penn State Spring Game.  “I loved it.  I liked the people and the fans.  I just thought everything was great.”

Coxson committed to Penn State over scholarship offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Florida, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Maryland, Boston College, Syracuse, Duke and a few others.  He had 13 offers in all.

Coxson, who has been a varsity starter since his freshman season, caught 34 passes for 821 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season.  He averaged 24.1 yards per catch.  Coxson also played cornerback and returned punts and kickoffs.  He averaged 23 yards per punt return and 20 yards per kickoff return.

Coxson joins linebacker Mike Hull from Canonsburg (Pa.) Canon-McMillan and quarterback P.J. Jones from McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto-Rox as the Nittany Lions three class of 2010 commitments.
