ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback Robert Bolden from Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary’s said last week he would leave for Penn State on Saturday and attend the Nittany Lions’ camp from Sunday through today.

There was a change of plans. But that doesn’t mean things did not work out well for Bolden and the Nittany Lions.

“We had to change things,” Bolden said.  “I left on Friday and did their (senior) camp on Friday and Saturday.  I did both days.  It went pretty good.”

While in State College, Bolden was surrounded by Penn State commitments and possible commitments.  He also spent time with current Nittany Lions players.

“I got to see other recruits,” Bolden said.  “I saw guys like Adrian Coxson, Alex Kenney and Paul Jones.  I liked it.

“When camp was over I got to sit down with some (Penn State) players.  They said they like it there.  They put me with DeOn’tae Pannell, who is from Michigan.”

There were other things Bolden liked about his trip to State College.

“I saw the campus and all the facilities,” Bolden said.  “And I talked to pretty much all the coaches.  It was good.”

One of the coaches Bolden talked to was Joe Pa.

“Coach Paterno asked me how I liked the camp,” Bolden said.  “He wanted to know where I’m at with recruiting.  I told him hopefully I’m getting close to a decision.  Hopefully, I’ll get it over with before the (football) season.”

Bolden has 23 scholarship offers including Penn State, Michigan State, Oregon, Louisville, Michigan, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Nebraska and Northwestern.

However, Michigan State recently landed a commitment from Saline, Mich., quarterback Joe Boisture, and the Spartans are expected to sign just one quarterback this recruiting season.

“I guess you could say it is Penn State, Michigan State and Louisville, and I’m still looking at Oregon,” Bolden said.  “But Michigan State is only taking one quarterback, so I’m not sure why I said them.  I’m still open.”

He may not be “open” much longer.  There have been rumors Bolden could commit to the Nittany Lions as soon as today.

“I probably won’t decide in the next day or so, I doubt it,” Bolden said Tuesday night.

Kurelic’s Comment:  It may not come today or tomorrow, but all indications are Bolden picks Penn State.  He said he is not concerned Jones has already committed to Penn State.
