Bolden beautiful for Lions?

Joe Paterno appears on the verge of landing his second star quarterback for his 2010 recruiting class.

Paterno already has a commitment from P.J. Jones from McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto-Rox.  Jones is the Keystone State’s top quarterback prospect.

There are three outstanding quarterback prospects in the state of Michigan: Robert Bolden, Devin Gardner and Joe Boisture.  The latter two will stay in-state with Gardner headed to Michigan and Boisture to Michigan State.

Bolden, from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, is headed out-of-state.  By this time tomorrow, all indications point towards Bolden being the newest Penn State commitment.  Bolden is set to announce his college choice at St. Mary’s High School at 9:30 on Friday morning.

Bolden attended Penn State’s football camp at the end of June and the Nittany Lions have seemed to be his No. 1 choice ever since.

Bolden apparently to fit in well with class of 2010 commit wide receiver Adrian Coxson, current PSU lineman DeOn’tae Pannell and others.  Bolden also said he was impressed the Penn State campus and facilities.

Bolden has 23 scholarship offers, but has narrowed his choices to Penn State, Oregon, Louisville, Northwestern and Vanderbilt according to his father, Robert Bolden Sr.

However, the three schools Bolden has consistently mentioned are Penn State, Oregon and Michigan State.  The Spartans are no longer in the mix and Bolden has not even visited Oregon, which all points to a Penn State commitment on Friday.

Bolden passed for 1,000 yards and rushed for over 500 during his junior season.  In early June, he showed a strong and accurate arm at the Nike Football Training Camp at Illinois and was officially measured at 6-foot-4 and 199 pounds.  Bolden also showed outstanding all-around athletic ability as he went through drills and testing at the camp.

Kurelic’s Comment:  A combination of Bolden and Jones in this Penn State recruiting class would be a dynamic duo.  It seems very likely to happen in the next 24 hours.
