Kolb fourth in line?

The Nittany Lions have commitments from three offensive linemen to this point.  They would like to add at least one more and continue to pursue Khamrone Kolb from Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock.

The 6-foot-6 and 300-pound Kolb has been a varsity starter since the beginning of his sophomore season and has played every position on the offensive line except center.  Kolb has also played tight end, but will play on the offensive line at the next level, likely as a tackle.

Kolb has 10 scholarship offers.  In early July he told Nittany Network he had cut his list down to five: Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Connecticut.

“It’s still down to those five,” Kold said on Tuesday night.  “I still want to narrow it down to three by the end of the summer.”

Kolb has visited Penn State twice, including the Blue-White Spring Game.  He has been impressed on both of his trips to State College and is looking forward to another visit.

“I plan to make it to one of their games,” Kolb said.  “I’m going to try to get to the Ohio State game or the Iowa game.”

Kolb says once he narrows his list down to three schools, he plans to schedule official visits to all three.

“I’d like to make my official visits during the (football) season,” Kolb said.

Kolb is being recruited by Penn State assistant Larry Johnson.

“I’m going to talk to him again (today),” Kolb said.  “I’m just going to check in with him.”

Kurelic’s Comment:  The Nittany Lions are on a recruiting roll and Kolb is another one of those prospects Joe Paterno has a very realistic shot at landing.  Expect Penn State and Virginia to be two of Kolb’s final three choices.
