Scout's Take: Putting a bow on it

Clark finished his college career in memorable fashion but has some things to work on to mimic that success at the NFL level, according to Littlefield.

Where do you project Odrick, Lee, and Quarless to go in the draft?

Matt - thank you for you views and analysis.

What are your (early) thoughts on next year's NFL prospects from Penn State?

I believe that Lee is a mid-2nd round draft pick as either a WLB for a 4/3 team or as an ILB for a 3/4 team. I believe that Odrick is a high 3rd round draft pick, most likely as a DE for a 3/4 team, but perhaps as a 3-technique DT for a 4/3 team as well. Quarless is a solid 4th round pick in my view, as long as his poor work habits & character problems are well behind him. Prospects with a lot of character, maturity, & learning problems all drop at least a couple rounds.

Thank you for reading & for your question. Looking ahead the 2010 season & the 2011 NFL Draft, #22-RB-Evan Royster appears to have played the most & has the highest draft value at this point. After him, #5-WR-Graham Zug may have a chance, if he proves he can be an effective punt returner as well as receiver. #15-OLB-Bani Gbadyu got some playing time this past season due to the injuries to Lee & Bowman. He may has some late draft value with a strong season. #36-PK-Collin Wagner will be a senior, but will have to have a great season kicking field goals, in order to get a chance in a camp. The Lions look to be a very young team in 2010!

Whoops! I cannot believe I forgot to put those two in my list!

Wisniewski is probably a mid-round prospect, while Ogbu is likely a late round guy. Stefen is not a great athlete, & Ollie has a real small frame.

2010 Season

Does PSU have a chance to pull off the upset of the century against the National Champs next year in Tuscaloosa given the loss of their LB Corps and a new QB?

I think Iowa presents the best chance for PSU among Alabama, Iowa, and Ohio State.  Their three toughest opponents on the schedule.

Yes, I think we have a chance, especially considering the fact that Alabama loses 10 starters on defense.

However, I am not expecting us to win.  I am hopeful that we will make a game of it and that we can earn some national respect in the process.
