Baltimore (Md.) City College wide receiver Adrian Coxson will be in State College on Saturday.

“I’m going to the Penn State-Iowa game,” Coxson said.  “That’s not my official visit.  My official visit will be for the Ohio State game.”

Coxson spoke with Penn State assistant Larry Johnson on Wednesday and let Johnson know he will be on hand for the Nittany Lions’ big game Saturday night.

“We (also) talked about how I’m doing, how my season is going,” Coxson said.

Coxson committed to the Nittany Lions on April 30, five days after attending Penn State’s spring game and two days before making the trip back to State College for the Nike Football Training Camp.

However, in August Coxson said he would visit other schools.  On Thursday night, he said he is still thinking along those lines.

“I’ll probably visit some other schools, (but) I’m not sure yet,” Coxson said.  “I’ll probably visit some schools down south, but I’m not sure who yet.

“A lot of schools are still recruiting me like Florida, Maryland, Georgia, Pitt, West Virginia and a couple more.”

The 6-foot-1 and 195-pound Coxson, the No. 102 prospect on the ESPNU 150, has been a varsity starter at wide receiver since his freshman season and a starter at cornerback the past two seasons.

Coxson caught 34 passes for 821 yards during his junior season.  He averaged 24 yards per catch and had eight touchdowns.  Coxson intercepted three passes.  He averaged 23 yards per punt return with two touchdowns, and 20 yards per kickoff return with a touchdown.

City College is primarily running the ‘wildcat’ offense this season with Coxson taking the snaps.  He has rushed for 488 yards and five touchdowns and passed for over 200 yards and three touchdowns.  City College is 3-0.

Kurelic’s Comment:  In the end, I see Coxson signing with the Nittany Lions.  The school he has mentioned most often when it comes to potential other visits is Maryland, but he is very familiar with the Terrapins and I don’t see him changing from Penn State to Maryland.
