The No. 1 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd, will make an official visit this weekend to arguably the Nittany Lions’ biggest conference rival, Ohio State.

“I’m going out there on Saturday morning,” Floyd said.  “It will be an official visit.”

Floyd has already made official visits to USC and Florida.  He was originally scheduled to make an official visit to South Carolina this weekend.

“Some things got mixed up, so I’m going out to Ohio,” Floyd said.  “I’ll reschedule South Carolina.  It will probably be sometime after the season.”

Floyd also has an official visit set to North Carolina the weekend of Nov. 7.  He was originally going to visit Penn State that weekend when the Nittany Lions play Ohio State.

Where does that leave Penn State?

“I’ll go on an unofficial visit since I know I should be able to make it out there,” Floyd said.  “I’m not sure when.  I’ll try to get to one of their games.”

Floyd maintains he is wide open and his visits will determine his ultimate destination.

“I don’t have a top two or three, just a top six,” he said.

The 6-foot-3 and 308-pound Floyd is the No. 73 prospect on the ESPNU 150.  Floyd, who has over 30 scholarship offers, has made 35 plus tackles including eight sacks thus far this season.

Kurelic’s Comment:  It has to be at least a little concerning to Nittany Lion fans that Floyd is not planning to make an official visit to Penn State.  But he has been to Penn State before and I continue to think Joe Pa and his staff have as good a shot as anyone.
