Floyd's visit schedule updated

Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd has made official visits to Florida and USC.  There have been some rumblings he will take official visit No. 3 this weekend and the trip will be to Penn State.

However, according to one of Floyd’s coaches, Mike White, Floyd’s next official visit will be to South Carolina.

“He’s going to South Carolina Oct. 24,” White said.  “He’s talking about going to Penn State Nov. 7.”

Nov. 7 is the weekend the Nittany Lions take on Ohio State.

North Carolina is the fifth school Floyd has said he plans to make an official visit to.  But that is not set in stone.

“North Carolina might drop out,” Wallace said.  “If he doesn’t visit North Carolina his fifth visit will probably be Ohio State.”

Of those six schools, the Buckeyes were the last to offer Floyd a scholarship.

“Ohio State has officially offered,” Wallace said.  “They had sent an offer, but it went to another address.  He has the offer now.”

If Floyd does decide to visit Ohio State, the Buckeyes will have won out for his last visit over North Carolina, Michigan, West Virginia and Boston College.

It looks like the Nittany Lions will be in the house on Friday to get a first-hand look at Floyd in action.

“I’m pretty sure Coach (Ron) Vanderlinden and Coach (Larry) Johnson are coming to our game on Friday,” Wallace said.

The 6-foot-3 and 308-pound Floyd is the No. 73 prospect on the ESPNU 150.  Floyd, who has over 30 scholarship offers, has helped George Washington win four of six games thus far this season.  Floyd has made 30 tackles including seven sacks.

Kurelic’s Comment:  I continue to think the Nittany Lions and Florida have the best shot at landing Floyd, with South Carolina next.
