Penn State's class ranked No. 15 in nation

While some continue to wonder how long Joe Paterno can keep going, JoePa just continues to get it done.

He led the Nittany Lions to an 11-2 record and a Rose Bowl berth. On the recruiting trail, the legendary coach is not doing too shabby either, as Penn State currently sits with a top-15 class and has two ESPNU 150 prospects on board.

With Pat Devlin transferring, Penn State is hoping Kevin Newsome (Chatham, Va./Hargrave Military Academy) can be QB Daryll Clark's successor.

The class also features good offensive line help with two top-25 tackle prospects in Eric Shrive (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) and Mark Arcidiacono (Philadelphia/St. Joseph's Prep) and the No. 5-rated center in Ty Howle (Bunn, N.C.).

With several key upperclassmen manning the secondary for Penn State, it was a key for the Nittany Lions to land some talent in the defensive backfield. A big get was Darrell Givens (Indian Head, Md./Lackey), the No. 6 corner.

Special teams is a key and with accomplished kicker Kevin Kelly moving on, the Nittany Lions have landed No. 2-rated kicker Anthony Fera (Houston/Saint Pius X), to try to replace Kelly.

The biggest hole in this class of 26 commitments is the lack of wide receivers to help compensate for the loss of three key playmakers.
