Drummond another Ohio target

Hubbard (Ohio) junior wide receiver Kurtis Drummond is one of the top athletes in northeast Ohio.  The 6-foot-2 and 185-pound Drummond would have been a starter on the Hubbard football team his sophomore season, but played in only a couple games due to torn meniscus in his right knee.

Drummond started at both wide receiver and cornerback during his junior season and caught close to 20 passes, intercepted three and scored five times.

Drummond has been a varsity starter on the Hubbard basketball team since his freshman season.  He is averaging just over 20 points per game during his junior season.

However, it will be football at the next level for Drummond.  Coaches from many programs have stopped at Hubbard to check on Drummond - including Penn State assistant Jay Paterno.

“Indiana has been through,” Drummond said.  “Bowling Green, Boston College and Michigan State have been through.  Ohio State has been out and Penn State has been here.  I think Buffalo has talked to my coach.  Akron and Cincinnati have been out, too.”

Drummond has not given too much thought to recruiting to this point.

“It’s up in the air right now,” Drummond said.  “I plan to go to some camps in the summer, but I’m not sure which ones.”

Drummond did say he is definitely interested in the Nittany Lions.

“Jay Paterno from Penn State was at our school,” Drummond said.  “I’ve never been to Penn State, but I’m interested in them.”

Drummond has not visited any schools to this point.  He plans to attend some football camps during the, but is not sure which ones.
