Pittsburgh (Pa.) Fox Chapel offensive lineman Miles Dieffenbach is one of the Keystone State’s top offensive line prospects.

The 6-foot-4 and 285-pound junior was Fox Chapel’s starting center his freshman season.  He played center again his sophomore year before moving to tackle for his junior season.

“He is very versatile,” Fox Chapel coach Bryan Deal said.  “He can play any of the three offensive line positions.”

Dieffenbach is strong and has good feet.  He also runs well and is very aggressive at the point of attack.

Dieffenbach attended Pitt’s football camp during the summer.

“He did a great job,” Deal said.  “Pitt offered him (a scholarship).”

Dieffenbach’s father, George Dieffenbach, is the head tennis coach at Pitt, so it might be assumed Miles will eventually commit to the Panthers.  However, as Lee Corso says, “Not so fast my friends.”

“He’s open,” Deal said.  “He wants to get out and see what is out there.”

Enter Penn State and a number of other schools.

“Penn State is interested,” Deal said.  “Tom Bradley has been out.  Miles went to a junior day at Penn State.  He’s been to Penn State, Boston College, Notre Dame and Pitt for junior days.  And he went to Penn State when they played Michigan State.”

In addition to being a fine football prospect, Dieffenbach is a good student with a 3.0-plus GPA.
