Foose planning another visit

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic offensive lineman Dan Foose is one of the top line prospects in the Garden State.  The 6-foot-6 and 310-pound Foose has been a varsity starter since the final three games of his freshman season, when he played defensive end.

Foose played offensive guard and defensive tackle during both his sophomore and junior seasons.  He did not allow a sack either season and is being recruited as an offensive lineman who could play guard or tackle at the next level.

Though the Nittany Lions have not offered Foose a scholarship, they are interested in him.

“I visited Penn State about three weeks ago,” Foose said.  “I visited with Coach (Dick) Anderson.  I met Coach (Joe) Paterno.  I got a tour of the school.  It was amazing.”

Foose liked what he heard from Paterno and Anderson, and came away very high on Penn State.

“I liked the coaches’ philosophy,” Foose said.  “I liked the atmosphere there.  You can’t really do better than Penn State.”

As much as he enjoyed his Penn State visit, Foose says there are a number of other schools he is interested in.

“Rutgers, Boston College, Connecticut, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland are some others,” he said.  “I have one written offer, Rutgers.  I have a couple verbal offers, but I don’t want to say who until they are official.”

Foose plans to make another trip to State College in the next month or so.

“I sent an e-mail to Coach Anderson to see if I should go to their spring game or a practice at Penn State,” Foose said.  “I’ll go to one of them.”
