Defensive end C.J. Olaniyan from Warren (Mich.) Mott, visited Penn State over the weekend.  Olaniyan and Mott Coach Tom Milanov were in State College on Friday.

“We left after school on Thursday and visited Penn State on Friday,” Milanov said.  “He was impressed with the coaching staff.  He liked Penn State.”

The 6-foot-4 and 230-pound Olaniyan is one of the top prospects in Michigan.  He has been a varsity starter at defensive end and as a flex receiver since the beginning of his sophomore season.

As a junior, Olaniyan made 85 tackles including nine sacks.  He has 14 tackles for loss.  On the other side of the ball Olaniyan caught 33 passes and scored three times.

“He has a good motor,” Milanov said.  “He is just scratching the surface of his potential.  He is definitely a team player.”

Olaniyan has scholarship offers from Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky and Virginia Tech.

In addition to Penn State, Olaniyan has visited Michigan and Michigan State.

“He enjoyed all three visits,” Milanov said.  “He is going to visit Iowa this coming weekend.”

Milanov said his star player isn’t ready to select a college anytime soon, but probably won’t take the recruiting process all the way through to National Signing Day.

“I think he’ll take at least some of his official visits,” Milanov said.  “He wants to decide during the season.  I think he’ll decide during the season or just after it’s over.”

In addition to being an outstanding football player, Olaniyan is also on the Mott basketball and track teams.
