Pittsburgh (Pa.) Fox Chapel standout Miles Dieffenbach is one of the top offensive line prospects in the Keystone State.  The 6-foot-4 and 285-pounder has been a varsity starter since his freshman season.  Dieffenbach has played center and offensive tackle.

Dieffenbach’ father George Dieffenbach has been the tennis coach at Pitt for over 30 years, and Miles has a scholarship offer from the Panthers.

“Pitt is probably my favorite right now, but I want to see what else is out there,” Miles said.  “My dad is open about it.  He says it is my decision.  But (his father being the tennis coach) is somewhat a factor.  I’ve been around Pitt all my life.”

The other schools Dieffenbach wants to look into include Penn State.  He has attended a junior day at Penn State and also was in Happy Valley for two games this past season.  Dieffenbach was on hand as the Nittany Lions defeated Indiana and Michigan State.

“The atmosphere is on another level at Penn State,” Dieffenbach said.  “It’s better than anything I’ve seen before.  They have another junior day coming up.  I think it’s in the next couple weeks.  I might go to that.”

Dieffenbach has visited Pitt many times.  He attended a junior day at Notre Dame during the winter as well as one at Boston College.

In addition to those schools, Dieffenbach says he is also interested in Virginia, Michigan State, Syracuse and Northwestern.  He plans to attend one-day camps this summer at most of the schools on his list, including Penn State.
