Defensive end C.J. Olaniyan from Warren (Mich.) Mott, who has a scholarship offer from Penn State, is a Michigan man this week.  Olaniyan attended Michigan’s spring practice session on Thursday.

“It was OK,” Olaniyan said.  “I’ve seen them practice before, so it was nothing new.  It just refreshed my memory.”

Olaniyan will be back in Ann Arbor on Saturday for Michigan’s spring game.  He might attend a Michigan State spring practice session on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4 and 230-pound Olaniyan is one of the top prospects in Michigan.  He has been a varsity starter at defensive end and as a flex receiver since the beginning of his sophomore season.

Olaniyan made 85 tackles including nine sacks as a junior.  He has 14 tackles for loss.  On the other side of the ball Olaniyan caught 33 passes and scored three times.

Olaniyan has over a dozen scholarship offers including Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Oregon, Kentucky, Maryland and Virginia Tech.

Along with Mott Coach Tom Milanov, Olaniyan visited Penn State in March.

“I was there for a visit and saw them workout,” Olaniyan said.  “It was OK.  I liked the way (Penn State assistant coach) Larry Johnson did stuff.”

Olaniyan said he does not have a favorite and doesn’t plan to select a college anytime soon.  He wants to continue visiting schools, including Kentucky and Cincinnati later this month.
