Adrian Coxson from Baltimore (Md.) City College is one of the East Coast’s top wide receiver prospects.  The 6-foot-1 and 195-pounder has been a varsity starter since his freshman season.

Coxson is one of the top targets on Penn State’s recruiting list and was in State College on Saturday for the Blue-White Spring Game.

“It was great,” Coxson said.  “I loved it.  I liked the people and the fans.  I just thought everything was great.”

Coxson and a friend attended the game together.

“My mom stayed home this time,” Coxson said.  “She’s been there before.  She’ll come out again another time.”

Coxson spent some time talking with a number of the Penn State coaches, but mostly with Larry Johnson.

Coxson has scholarship offers from Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Florida, Connecticut, Notre Dame, Maryland, Boston College, Syracuse, Duke and a few others.

“I’ll be committing soon,” he said.  “I have 13 offers.  But I haven’t evaluated all of them yet.  I’ll decide before the football season starts, but maybe earlier than that.”

Coxson did not want to name a leader since he has not evaluated all of the schools on his list.

Coxson caught 34 passes for 821 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season.  He averaged 24.1 yards per catch.  Coxson also played cornerback and returned punts and kickoffs.  He averaged 23 yards per punt return and 20 yards per kickoff return.
