Defensive lineman Dominique Easley, one of New York’s top prospects, continues to add to his scholarship offer list.  In mid-April, Easley had offers from Penn State, Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Maryland, Oregon, Duke and Connecticut.

As the spring evaluation period winds down, Easley has seen a half-dozen additional schools step forward.

“I have six more offers,” Easley said.  “South Florida, Georgia and Miami, those are the ones I can think of right away.  I’m still open.  I’m going to look at all of them.”

The 6-foot-3 and 260-pounder from Staten Island (N.Y.) Curtis has led his team to a 21-2 record over the past two seasons.

Easley made 49 tackles including eight sacks during his sophomore season. He recovered two fumbles and returned one for a touchdown as Curtis went 13-0 and won the city championship.

His junior season, Easley made 51 tackles with 10 sacks as Curtis finished with an 8-2 record.  Easley recovered two fumbles - and returned both for touchdowns.

Easley has played defensive end, defensive tackle and linebacker over the past two seasons.  He will play either defensive end or tackle in college.

Easley headed south and attended a Florida spring practice session and also visited Penn State earlier this spring.  Shortly after that State College trip, Easley landed an offer from the Nittany Lions.  He also attended the Penn State-Michigan State game last season.

The Penn State staff remains in contact with the ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect some have compared to recently departed Nittany Lions defensive lineman and fellow New Yorker Maurice Evans.

“They were out about a week ago,” Easley said.  “Kermit Buggs watched me at a spring practice.”

In April, Easley said he planned to select a college during the summer.  However, he is now thinking differently.

“I’m going to take official visits,” Easley said.  “I’ll take all five.  I am not sure who I’ll visit yet.”
