Bolden: PSU among leaders

The NIKE Football Training Camp at the University of Illinois on Saturday was loaded with quarterback talent.  Four ESPNU 150 Watch List signal callers took part in the camp - including Robert Bolden from Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary’s.

Bolden showed his stuff in War Memorial Stadium on Saturday and was as good as any quarterback on hand.

The 6-foot-4 and 195-pound Bolden, the most consistent quarterback in the day’s activities, has the potential to be a star at the next level.  The ball comes out of Bolden’s hand like a rocket.  He also has excellent speed and agility.

Bolden has close to two dozen scholarship offers including Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Bolden would not go on record as saying he has a leader among his many choices.  However, the feeling on Saturday among some in attendance was that Bolden won’t end up at Michigan since the Wolverines already have a commitment from Inkster, Mich., quarterback Devin Gardner, who also was at the Illinois NFTC.

Speculation is Bolden has Penn State and Oregon high on his list. Whether the Nittany Lions are one of his top two choices or not right now, there is no question Bolden is interested in Penn State.

Nittany Network was in Champaign on Saturday and has this video interview with Bolden, as well as the star quarterback going through some drills.
