Defensive lineman Dominique Easley from Staten Island (N.Y.) Curtis is one of the top prospects on the East Coast.  The 6-foot-3 and 260-pound Easley led his team to a 21-2 record over the past two seasons.

Easley made 49 tackles including eight sacks during his sophomore season. He recovered two fumbles and returned one for a touchdown as Curtis went 13-0 and won the city championship.  Easley made 51 tackles including 10 sacks during his junior season.

Easley has added scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Miami and South Florida and now has 18 offers total.  His list includes Penn State, Michigan, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College, Texas Tech, Tennessee, Maryland, Oregon, Duke and Connecticut, which all offered by mid-April.

“I’ll probably narrow it down at the end of June,” Easley said.  “Right now I’m still thinking I’ll take all five official visits, but I don’t know who I’m going to visit.”

Easley visited Penn State during the spring and landed an offer from the Nittany Lions.  He also attended the Penn State-Michigan State game last season.

“I liked everything when I was out there,” Easley said.  “I talked to the coaches, but I haven’t talked to Joe Paterno yet.  Kermit Buggs is recruiting me.”

Easley hasn’t taken any summer visits to this point.

“I’m not sure about (visits) the rest of the summer,” he said.

Kurelic’s Comment:  Easley is very non-committal on his college choices.  But it seems like the Nittany Lions have as good a shot as anyone.
