ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (Philadelphia, Pa./George Washington) has offers from all around the country and is one of the top prospects at his position for the 2010 recruiting cycle. He spoke with Nittany Network affiliate TheBigSpur.com's Josh Low about the current state of his recruitment, including where Penn State and a few other programs like South Carolina, Rutgers, Boston College and North Carolina, stand.

Floyd has more than 30 offers, including ones from South Carolina, North Carolina, Penn State, Florida, Boston College, West Virginia, Rutgers, Miami, UCLA, and others. He visited South Carolina unofficially during the spring and has developed a good relationship with Gamecocks quarterback coach G.A. Mangus.

"Coach Mangus and I are good. He is a really good guy. I haven't seen anything wrong with South Carolina. They have a really good coaching staff and I got to know a couple of their players when I visited (during the spring). I liked everything. I would love to visit again but I'm not sure that is going to happen since I'm only going to take three official visits."

The 6-foot-3, 303 pounder talked about when he will narrow things down and when he will make the decision.

"I plan on only taking three official visits because I don't want to waste my time taking five. I plan on narrowing it down to three schools at the end of August, and then decide in early January."

Floyd went on to talk about two schools he has visited recently or will be visiting soon.

Penn State: "I've already visited Penn State three times and will be going back this weekend. (PSU Defensive line coach) Larry Johnson is the man. He is a really great person. He knows what he is doing and thinks that I can come in and play."

Boston College: "I like that they just put two defensive tackles into the NFL. I really like the coaching staff. Their defensive line coach is really good. I believe he knows what he is doing and he is straight up with me. I visited there like two weeks ago. It was a good visit for me and I loved it down there."

While Floyd does not have any top schools right now, he was asked what schools are in "good shape" for him.

"Penn State, North Carolina, Rutgers, Boston College, Ohio State, and Michigan," he said.
