Linebacker Travis Williams from Norfolk (Va.) Lake Taylor has attended Penn State’s football camp since eighth grade.  He also visited Penn State on June 21 for a team camp.

Williams plans to be back in State College the weekend of Nov. 7.

“I’m looking forward to the Penn State-Ohio State game,” Williams said.  “I know I’ll go to that game.”

Williams says he has at least 15 or 16 scholarship offers including Penn State, Miami, West Virginia, Tennessee, LSU and North Carolina.

“It’s still down to those six schools,” Williams said.

In addition to the Ohio State at Penn State game, Williams said he hopes to get to games at some of the other schools he is considering, though he is not sure which ones at this point.

Williams has yet to schedule any official visits.

“I think I’ll probably take three or four official visits,” Williams said.  “I think I’ll visit Miami after the season.  And I want to take official visits to LSU, Penn State and West Virginia.”

The 6-foot-2 and 195-pound Williams has been a varsity starter since his freshman year.  He made 56 tackles including 15 sacks during his junior season.  Williams had 20 sacks as a freshman and 22 his sophomore year.

Kurelic’s Comment:  There is little doubt Khairi Fortt is No. 1 on Penn State’s list when it comes to landing another linebacker.  The chances of Williams ending up at Penn State will likely be impacted by Fortt’s status.
