Oil City, Pa., junior tight end Ben Koyack, a Penn State target, made an unofficial visit to Ohio State over the weekend.  Koyack, his parents and one of his coaches attended the Ohio State-USC game on Saturday night.

“It was pretty darned nice,” Koyack said.  “I was down on the field watching the warm-ups.  It was a great atmosphere.  You get pretty pumped up seeing all those people coming in.”

Koyack also saw ‘The Walk’ before the game as the Ohio State players go through long lines of fans on their way to a pep rally type scene in the basketball arena.

“That was pretty amazing,” he said.  “And I was in the ‘Skull Session’ for a minute.”

The Buckeyes did not throw as much to the tight end last night as they did the week prior against Navy.  But that did not bother Koyack.

“You can’t do that every game,” he said.  “I know that.  You do what is best to win.  Sometimes we don’t throw to the tight end as much and I block more.”

Koyack has close to 20 scholarship offers.  His list includes Penn State, Ohio State, West Virginia, Pitt, Florida, Wisconsin, Boston College, Maryland, Virginia Tech and North Carolina State.

Penn State, Ohio State, Pitt and West Virginia remain Koyack’s top four choices.

“Ohio State and Penn State are still my leaders,” he said.  “They are still tied.”

Koyack said the next game he attends will probably be the Ohio State at Penn State on Nov. 7.  He is keeping an eye on the Nittany Lions.

“I watched a little bit of the Syracuse game on T.V.,” Koyack said.  “It looked like they were doing pretty well.”

The 6-foot-5 and 230-pound Koyack caught 48 passes during his sophomore season and scored 10 times.  He is one of the top five juniors in the Keystone State.

Kurelic’s Comment:  Sometimes when a player says two schools are even, he really has a leader.  In talking to Koyack, I certainly don’t get that feeling.
