Legacy in waiting?

The name Barowski is probably familiar to many Penn State fans.  Sean Barowski, Sr., played for the Nittany Lions for two seasons before transferring to finish up at Syracuse.

Barowski’s son, Sean Barowski, Jr., is a junior at Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt.

The 6-foot-2 and 235-pound Sean Barowski, Jr., was on the McDevitt varsity his freshman year before he sustained a back injury.  Barowski was a starter at fullback his sophomore season and is playing fullback and middle linebacker for the 5-0 and No. 1-ranked team in the state this season.

Though he has not yet landed his first scholarship offer, Barowski is drawing interest from recruiters.

“A lot of schools send mail,” Barowski said.  “I like Pitt, Penn State, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Kansas and West Virginia and Virginia.”

Barowski said he does not have a favorite at this point.

He attended the Cincinnati at Rutgers game earlier this season and said he has been invited to all of the Notre Dame home games.

Barowski is interested in attending games at Penn State and Pitt, though nothing is definite right now.

In addition to being a talented football player, Barowski is also a fine student, sporting a 3.1 GPA.

Kurelic’s Comment:  Barowski and teammate Jameel Poteat are two outstanding juniors at Bishop McDevitt.  Both have an interest in Penn State and are two prospects Nittany Lion fans should keep in mind.
